Melt is proud to be a British chocolate company at the forefront of the revival in British chocolate.
When we think about British chocolates we think about British icons. What could be more British than an English breakfast with toast and marmalade? Melt has created a toast and marmalade chocolate bar which faithfully recreates that sublime combination. What could be more quintessential than a lazy British summer in the kitchen garden with delicious rhubarb and cream chocolates? Or celebrating British berries with blackcurrants and chocolate which we made for Mark Hix at Brown’s Hotel?
Melt Chocolates is at leading the revival of British Chocolates and represents the ‘Best of British’ Luxury brands. Our chocolates are handcrafted in the finest tradition of British workmanship and quality.
Our chocolates are handmade at our shops in Notting Hill and Holland Park, London. Melt is the only British chocolate company that makes, sells and is headquartered in Central London. Melt has been privileged to have collaborated with many inspiring British chefs including Mark Hix, Bill Granger, the late Rose Gray and Ruth Rodgers at the River Cafe, Skye Gyngell at Petersham Nurseries and with British Luxury designers Anya Hindmarch, Celia Birtwell and Sophie Conran.
Recently the Chiltern Firehouse, hotel and restaurant to the A-lister set in Marylebone, Central London, commissioned the Melt kitchen to create a collection of bespoke recipes to link in with their most popular cocktails. Melt Chocolates have also been sold at those icons of London luxury – Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty, Fenwicks, Daylesford and the hotels Browns, Soho House and the Mandarin Oriental.
The term ‘British Chocolate’ is, of course, not strictly accurate – as cocoa does not grow in Britain. Just as Belgian, Swiss or French chocolate is equally misleading. Our chocolate actually comes from Latin America – what is British about our chocolates is that we have talented British chocolatiers who turn those raw ingredients into our sublime chocolates. Our kitchen is led by Kate Fletcher, an experienced British chocolatier.
